Although the former Indian Captain Sourav Ganguly is not in touch with Indian team actively but his observation says that Harbhajan Singh can make a strong comeback if the selectors stop concentrating only on MS Dhoni‘s favours.

“I think Bhajji can make a comeback to the national side in both form of the game,” Ganguly said to a news channel last night about Harbhajan Singh who played his last test in March,2013.

Having India’s one of the top spinners , why the selectors did not chose the Jalandhar man over Dhoni’s choice, that made Ganguly surprised.
“I believe the selectors don’t think much on this (Harbhajan’s selection) and especially when you have captain’s men around,” he said.
Harbhajan’s recent track record says that he has got 23 wickets with the average of 26.60 in six successive Ranji matches.

The selectors included Amit Mishra for both Asia Cup and 2014 ICC World Twenty20 instead of Harbhajan Singh and Pragyan Ojha, which seems not so convincing to the former captain. As he thinks Amit Mishra an “average spinner who is slow in the air,” Ganguly suggested that it would be tough for the Indian bowlers to hold in batsmen from scoring.

“He (Amit) is slow in the air and this makes it easy for a batsman to read him. It can be recalled how (Shane) Watson was hitting him in Nagpur during the ODI last October,” the former captain said.

“Amit’s fielding is also not outstanding. I am not sure whether he would be able to make any difference to the team because all these sides are from the subcontinent and they know how to play spinners on these flat wickets. I am surprised that how come Bhajji and Ojha are sitting outside the team,” he also scrutinized Mishra’s feilding and quetioned how the selectors could ignore Bhajji and Ojha for the tournament.
