Big Bash League 2018-19: Adelaide Strikers vs Brisbane Heat – Report. Brisbane Heat cruised to a comfortable win of six wickets against reigning champions Adelaide Strikers in the ongoing Big Bash League 2018-19. Heat’s southpaw batsman Matthew Renshaw played a blistering knock of 90 runs off just 50 balls to keep his team floating in the tournament.

The defending champions Adelaide Strikers didn’t get off to a good start when they lost their in-form batsman Jake Weatherald in the first over of the innings. In fact, Strikers lost another wicket as Jake Lehmann was sent back by Josh Lalor. However, Strikers captain Colin Ingram and Alex Carey added 37 runs for the third wicket.
Meanwhile, Ben Cutting was able to get rid of Alex Carey. Furthermore, Colin Ingram and Jonathan Wells added 43 runs for the fourth wicket before the latter was removed by Josh Lalor.
Brendon McCullum made a stunning effort at the boundary ropes and Ben Cutting was able to complete the catch. However, former New Zealand skipper could not evade the boundary ropes.

Meanwhile, Strikers kept losing wickets at regular intervals. However, Michael Neser, Rashid Khan and Cameron Valente provided the finishing touches to the innings with quickfire knocks.

Brisbane Heat promoted their all-rounder Ben Cutting to open the innings. However, the move didn’t pay dividends as Cutting was dismissed in the first over. Heat suffered another blow as they lost the wicket of their in-form skipper Chris Lynn. Siddle who had accounted for Cutting in the first over was able to plumb Max Bryant in front of the wickets.
Meanwhile, Matt Renshaw and Brendon McCullum were able to hit the ground running as both of them got off to quick starts. McCullum and Renshaw added a match-winning alliance of 122 runs.
The former Kiwi skipper scored a good knock of 51 runs off just 39 balls. Renshaw was the star of the show as he brought his best to the table. The left-hander scored nine fours and four maximums in his blistering knock of 90 runs. Alex Ross helped Renshaw in getting their team over the line as the latter scored a quickfire knock of 25 runs off just 13 balls.
