1st Innings:

Adelaide Strikers didn’t have an ideal start as the defending champions lost their previous match top-scorer Alex Carey to a run-out mix-up. However, skipper Colin Ingram and Jake Weatherald added 34 runs for the second wicket partnership. Meanwhile, both of them got out in quick succession to leave Strikers innings at 63-3.

Matthew Short and Jonathan Wells came up with a fine alliance of 104 runs to help their team post a competitive total of 174 runs. Short scored 65 runs from just 41 balls as his knock included one four and five maximums. On the other hand, Jonathan Wells scored 42 from 30 balls as he scored four fours.

Kane Richardson was able to get the important wickets of both Short and Wells in the final over of the innings. Furthermore, Mohammed Nabi bowled an economical spell as he conceded only 21 runs in three overs.

2nd Innings:

Melbourne Renegades lost their opener, Tim Ludeman, when the score was just 21 runs. Laughlin took a good catch at mid-off to give the first scalp to Strikers. Sam Harper and Cameron White added 60 runs partnership to keep Renegades run-chase on the right track. However, Rashid Khan struck twice to push Renegades on the backfoot. Rashid once again had a fine day with the ball as he scalped two wickets after conceding just 13 runs.

Rashid Khan bamboozled both White and Harper with wrong ones to plumb them Leg Before Wicket. Subsequently, Mohammed Nabi and Daniel Christain came up with a fine partnership. Both the right-handers timed the ball to perfection as they got the better off the Strikers bowlers.
