Big Bash League 2018/19: Brisbane Heat vs Sydney Sixers – Report. Sydney Sixers won the 15th match of the ongoing Big Bash League 2018-19 against Brisbane Heat by five wickets. This was Brisbane Heat third loss of the tournament and they are at the bottom of the points table. Meanwhile, the visitor’s Sixers captain Moises Henriques had won the toss and decided to bowl first.
Max Bryant was the dominated opener as he scored 32 out of 34 runs for the opening stand. However, Sam Heazelt scored only two before he was cleaned up. Subsequently, Brisbane Heat skipper Chris Lynn batted at the top of his game. Lynn took out his best as he blasted 55-ball 84.
The right-hander struck the ball hard as he scored three fours and five sixes. However, Lynn’s knock went in vain as Heat has lost their third match in the row. But Lynn was adjudged the Man of the match for his blistering knock.
Meanwhile, Tom Curran bowled with fire as he made good use of the slower ball. The English bowler scalped three wickets and gave away 25 runs in his four overs quota.
Sydney Sixers got off to a good start when their openers added 31 runs. Justin Avendano was looking good before he committed a schoolboy error. The right-hander didn’t bother to get his bat into the crease and tried to evade the throw. Thus, he was run-out and had to return back.
Meanwhile, Sixers skipper Moises Henriques carried the innings forward. The right-hander found the gap to perfection as he scored 57 off just 37 balls to keep Sixers run-chase on the right path. Henriques scored five fours and two sixes.
However, Jordan Silk continued his good form going. The right-hander provided the finishing touches with his brisk knock of 46 runs to get Sixers in close proximity of the target. Jos Phillipe also scored 14 off just seven balls. Josh Lalor scalped two wickets for 32 runs.
