Big Bash League 2018-19: Hobart Hurricanes vs Adelaide Strikers – Report. Adelaide Strikers cruised to a comfortable win over table toppers Hobart Hurricanes. The defending champions won by seven wickets with 13 balls to spare. Jake Weatherald was awarded the Man of the match for his blistering knock of 82 runs from 42 balls to help his side get close to the target 170 runs in the 47th match of the ongoing Big Bash League 2018-19.

The table leaders Hobart Hurricanes got off to good start after Adelaide Strikers captain Colin Ingram won the toss and decided to bowl first. The southpaw pair of D’Arcy Short and captain Matthew Wade added 59 runs for the opening stand.

The visitors Adelaide Strikers had a fine platform to chase down the target. Their left-handed duo of Jake Weatherald and Alex Carey added 116 runs for the opening partnership. Thus, it was always going to be a cakewalk for the tourists after getting a perfect start.
Carey scored 54 runs from 35 balls with the help of seven fours and a solitary six to help his team get off to a flyer. On the other hand, Jake Weatherald batted at the top of his game to score a match-winning knock of 82 runs from 42 balls.
On the other hand, Jarrod Freeman, Jofra Archer and Simon Milenko scalped one wicket each. This was Strikers fifth win of the season whereas Hobart Hurricanes had a rare off day at the office as this was their third loss the ongoing edition.
