Despite crucial fifties from Murali Vijay and Cheteshwar Pujara and a six-wicket haul from Ravichandran Ashwin, the Player-of-the-Match award went to Ravindra Jadeja. The Saurashtra born produced a match-winning performance as an all-rounder in the match.
