Indian captain MS Dhoni said that the bowlers did a great job restricting Zimbabwe to 126. The Indian team won the 2nd ODI by 8 wickets and also sealed the three match series. “So far, only three of our top batsmen have got the chance to play. In the batting department we would like to make changes,” Dhoni said at the post-match presentation ceremony.
After winning the second ODI, MS Dhoni said”We’ll sit and discuss changes for the next game with Sanjay (Bangar). There’s only so much players can do in only one game. We’ll see who can we fit in the T20 squad and maybe we’ll rest one of the bowlers.”
“Our bowlers did a great job to restrict them, I felt they would cross 200 but our spinners got us important breakthroughs,” he said.
“It was a different performance from the first game, slightly different pitch. Some of the shots played in the first 10 overs showed it was coming on to the bat nicely.”
“Most important thing is to win games and our batting when it comes to professionalism is right up there, even in the first game.”
India put up another dominating display of bowling. Yuzvendra Chahal was the pick of the bowlers with 3 wickets and was named the man of the match. The Indian team chased down the target in 26.5 overs with Karun Nair scoring 39 and KL Rahul 33. Rayadu remained not out on 41. The Indian team needs to try the other players in the third ODI. The likes of Faiz Faizal, Jayant Yadav must be tried in the next match.
