In the 2010 season, Chris Gayle played for Kolkata Knight Riders. This time he gave hard times to Kings XI Punjab bowler Ravi Bopara. It was the 34th match of IPL 2010 and was played between KKR and KXIP at the Eden Gardens. Manoj Tiwary and Chris Gayle were batting when Ravi Bopara ran in to bowl the 13th over. Few could have anticipated the brilliant exhibition of power-hitting by Gayle.

On the first ball of Ravi, Manoj Tiwary ran for one run and Gayle was put on the strike. The tall batsman launched into a brutal attack and the over ended up being worth 33 runs, including seven wides.

In the end, KKR went on to score 200 runs for three wickets in 20 overs but lost the match by eight wickets thanks to a brilliant century by Mahela Jayawardene.
