Bangladesh left-arm spinner Arafat Sunny and West Indies all-rounder Kevon Cooper have been reported for suspect action during the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League.
Sunny was reported for the same during the league game between Rangpur Riders and Rajshahi Kings. Earlier this year, he was barred from bowling during the 2016 World T20 due to an illegal bowling action but was subsequently cleared in September. On the other hand, Cooper was reported for suspect action during IPL 2014 while playing for Rajasthan Royals. His action again came under scanner during Pakistan Super League earlier this year.
“Sunny was reported once, in their last game [on November 28],” Jalal Yunus, the Chairman of BPL technical committee said. “The next step would be for the BCB’s bowling action review committee to analyse video footage of the delivery, which we will do soon after the end of the tournament. We have sent Cooper’s footage to the WICB.”
“In the next BPL, we hope to do the video analysis of suspected bowling action during the tournament itself, we will also have to be aware of foreign players who has been reported previously, so that we can inform our franchises beforehand. We don’t want to have such bowlers in future tournaments,” he added.
