Brad Hogg has played for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Former Australian cricketer, who last featured in the lucrative league, has picked up the all-time IPL XI on his YouTube Channel.

Hogg followed the same criteria that any IPL team has to use only four overseas players while selecting their playing XI for a match. He has surprised fans with his choice of players in XI.

Brad Hogg has picked up his countrymen David Warner and MI skipper Rohit Sharma as the opener of his team. Following which at No.3, Virat Kohli gets the place as a captain.

Hogg’s most surprising pick is Rishabh Pant at No. 4. The Aussie has also given the reason behind the selection of the youngster.

“A little bit of surprise here – Rishabh Pant. Entertainment value plus he does the job in the middle overs. Exceptionally well, just go out there and play with freedom because you got quality batsman around you, Mr. Pant,” he said.

Following Rishabh is the power hitter AB de Villiers and the best finisher in the business, MS Dhoni. The CSK skipper will be the wicketkeeper of the team while Pant will be given fielder’s duty.

Surprisingly, he has picked as many as five bowlers. Interestingly that is now not a usual pattern of selection. He named three pacers and two spinners. The two most economical bowler Sunil Narine and Rashid Khan are positioned at No. 7 and No. 8.

The pacer batter comprised of all the Indian players. Munaf Patel, who played only six IPL games since 2012, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Burmah are the three fast bowlers in Brad Hogg’s all-time playing XI.

The 49-year-old has also given the name of the players whom he could not pick, but he wanted them in the squad.

“The players who are very unlucky to miss out on my team are Suresh Raina, Lasith Malinga, and Dale Steyn. Those two fast bowlers are the most consistent bowlers in the IPL. And I could have used them in any phase of the game. So, these three are very unlucky to miss out,” he said.
