Brad Hogg, the Australian left-arm wrist spinner believes that a good IPL 2020 will increase Ambati Rayudu’s chances of representing India again. Brad Hogg also mentioned Rajasthan Royals will dearly miss the services of English destructive wicket-keeper Jos Buttler in their IPL 2020 opener.
Former Rajasthan Royals left-arm wrist-spinner who also represented Kolkata Knight Riders, Brad Hogg believes that Chennai Super Kings batsman Ambati Rayudu could stage a comeback to the Indian senior national side.
Brad Hogg Says Ambati Rayudu Can Have A Great IPL And Be Selected In Indian Team Again
Ambati Rayudu was omitted from the Indian team just before the 2019 World Cup and was left pretty much disappointed. He was not selected even as a replacement for injured Shikhar Dhawan or Vijay Shankar in 2019 World Cup which prompted him to announce retirement before making a U-turn.
He showed what India missed in the 2019 World Cup with his batting performance in the first game of IPL 2020 against Mumbai Indians.
CSK were in an uneasy position having lost two quick wickets chasing 163 runs when Ambati Rayudu arrived at the crease. The 34-year-old went on building the innings and led CSK to victory with a knock of 71 runs off just 48 balls.
Ambati Rayudu has played 148 IPL matches and has a century and 19 fifties to his name. He averages 29.06.
“CSK have got plenty of depth. Ambati Rayudu stood up and I think he can do a job again at No.4. I won’t be surprised if he is playing for India sooner rather than later. I think he is going to have another big series.
“He looks on top, watch him to make another 50 and he will make another 50 and become the man of the match,” Brad Hogg said on his YouTube channel.
Brad Hogg has predicted that Ambati Rayudu will be the star of CSK’s next game against Rajasthan Royals and will score a half-century once again.
Brad Hogg: Jos Buttler Will Be Missed As He Is Unavailable After Arriving Later
Brad Hogg also believes that Rajasthan Royals will miss the services of Jos Buttler extremely in their opening game against CSK.
Jos Buttler arrived in Dubai with his family and will be in quarantine for a longer period than the other English and Australian players, who came directly after the conclusion of limited-overs series featuring 3 ODIs and as many T20Is in England.
His strike-rate, particularly against spin bowling and ability to score runs all around the ground, is what Brad Hogg thinks will leave a huge void for RR to fill.
“The big blow for Rajasthan Royals would be Jos Buttler as he won’t be playing against CSK because he is still in quarantine. He came a little later than the other Australian and England players in the UAE for this IPL.
“The reason why it is a big blow because he is the Royals’ best player against spin. He is the only one who has got a strike-rate of above 120. So that is a big void to fill,” Brad Hogg said.
Jos Buttler has a strike rate of 150 overall and a decent average of 35 in 45 IPL matches with 9 fifties. Rajasthan Royals will start their IPL 2020 campaign against 3 time IPL champions CSK on Tuesday at Sharjah. The team may miss another England player Ben Stokes who is attending his father in his hometown New Zealand.
