Even though Shaun Marsh has been scoring centuries in the Sheffield shield, his name is not in the 17-men squad announced for the four-match Test series against India in December. His snub from the Test team has made everyone curious. Former Australian cricketer Brad Hogg, in the recent interaction with fans, has explained the reason behind Shaun Marsh’s snub from an important series.

Shaun Marsh last featured in Australia’s Test team for the Test series against India in 2019. In that series, he only scored one half-century in four Test matches. Before India’s Test series, the left-hand batsman had a string of low scores against Pakistan. His degrading performance has, thus, kept him away from the selection.

Brad Hogg has also given another reason why Cricket Australia is looking for other options over Marsh. He stated that the Western Australian player had been given enough chances and the young guns have proved themselves, which has, therefore, made tough for his selection at the age of 37.
