Australian spinner Brad Hogg has recollected the famous moment against Sachin Tendulkar which happened exactly nine years ago today. The 45-year old has managed to get the better off the little master as he dismissed Sachin at Hyderabad as India were chasing down a huge total posted by Australia.
However, it is not the usual sledging that Australians do on the cricket ground as Brad Hogg had utmost respect for Sachin Tendulkar as he is a great admirer of the greatest batsman of this century.
The left arm leg spinner have created a moment that the cricket fans will never forget as he went on to Sachin Tendulkar to get his autograph on the stumps as Australia won the game quite comfortably at the end. However, the little master signed the stump and said: “Never again mate!”
The duo has faced against each other so many times after that but the Australian veteran was never able to get the dismissal of Sachin Tendulkar after that match over the next seven years as Sachin retired in 2014.
On the occasion of nine years, Brad Hogg tweeted: “Lot of veterans games around the world, one opportunity, one game away to get the little master again.”

The 45-year old is keen to have one more opportunity as he feels that he could get the master out again. Recollecting the epic moment, Hogg said: “I tried to sledge him a couple of times during our battles, but my words were met with sheer determination. After a number of encounters, I thought it best to be polite to the legend. The day I was polite was the day I got him out — it was during a One-Day International (ODI) at Hyderabad in 2007.
“I went up to Sachin with a photograph — which had the stumps in the frame with the bails on the ground, he was walking off, Adam Gilchrist trying to control my enthusiasm and I was celebrating ecstatically as though the wicket had saved my career. Sachin signed the photo of his dismissal with the words, “Never again mate”. Never a truer word said!”
