Breaking: Bangladesh Could Reach No.6 In ODI Rankings Before Champions Trophy 1

Bangladesh can climb to the sixth position in ICC ODI rankings if they manage to win all the four games in their upcoming tri-series in Ireland which will also feature New Zealand.

The tigers will be playing in their first ever Champions Trophy after the tri-series but a solid performance in the build up to the coveted trophy could see them leapfrog Sri Lanka to reach a new high in their cricket history. Known to be one of the most exciting growing cricketing nations, Bangladesh could have a very good chance of qualifying directly for the 2019 ICC World Cup with a solid performance in the tri-series.

Bangladesh are currently in the seventh position two points behind Sri Lanka and three points ahead of Pakistan, who are in the eighth position.

“Bangladesh gets an opportunity to enhance its chances of direct qualification to the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 in an upcoming tri-series to be held in Dublin from 12 to 24 May,” the press release stated.

The tri-series will see all the three teams compete in round-robin way and the winner will be decided based on the points at the end of four games.

Here is the scenarios that are possible at the end of tri-series

Win all four games- sixth place, four points clear off Sri Lanka
