Breaking- Virat Kohli is now the highest paid Indian cricketer

Indian test captain Virat Kohli has become the highest paid Indian cricketer after the recent pay hike decision made by Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI).
The 27-year old has earned a whopping Rs 1 crore 78 lakh over a period of nine months last season and have been one of the best paid players in Indian cricket. However, the board have decided to revise the salaries of Indian test cricketers and the decision have made Kohli go ahead of Indian limited overs captain MS Dhoni in terms of income.
The newly revised salaries will see each test cricketer earn a massive Rs. 15 lakh per test match a significant rise when compared to earlier salary which was only Rs. 7.5 lakh.
Apart from the fee for Test matches, players also receive a retainer fee, one-day fees, and T20 fee. Indian cricketers also receive individual performance bonus and team performance bonus if the team does well.
Virat Kohli has become the Indian test captain when MS Dhoni decided to retire from test cricket in the middle of Australian series and the young captain has led India in an impressive way as the team are now the leading test team in the world. He has become an integral part of Indian team across three formats and has been the most important player for India in limited over formats over the past four to five years.
He has also been very important to test team as his captaincy has made the difference as India are currently on top of New Zealand in the ongoing test series as they go into Indore test with an unassailable 2-0 lead.
