Brendan Taylor Urges Zimbabwean People to Maintain Peace 1

The Zimbabwean military has recently seized the state TV and blocked off access to government offices in the country’s capital Harare to pacify a degenerating, social, and economic situation in the country according to the military spokesperson, Major General SB Moyo. However, Moyo denied that they are carrying a coup against the President Robert Mugabe’s government and admitted that the leader and his family are safe and sound and their safety is guaranteed.

“We are only targeting criminals around him who are committing crimes that are causing social and economic suffering in the country, to bring them to justice,” he said, as tanks surrounded parliamentary and presidential buildings.

He also urged the young generation to remain disciplined and committed to the ethos and values of the nation. Moyo also asked the political parties to discourage their members from creating any violence.

The Major General also confirmed that once the military objectives are fulfilled the country will get back to its normal self, and urged the Zimbabweans to continue their lives as usual.

Brendan Taylor has represented Zimbabwe in 25 Test Matches, 167 ODI’s and 26 T20Is scoring 1578, 5258, and 594 runs respectively. He recently made a comeback from retirement to the Zimbabwe squad after spending two years with the country team Nottinghamshire.
