Legendary Australian bowler had remarkable rivalries with his English counterpart. Daily Mail editor of US edition Piers Morgan has had his differences with the Indian for the last couple of weeks with the likes of Virender Sehwag joining in on the act. While the Ashes series plays its part in stirring up the rivalry between England and Australia, it is clear that the rivalry takes a curve outside the ground as well.
With a few hundred Aussies fans paraded behind the net and Mark Nicholas playing the role presenter and umpire at the same time, Brett Lee had six deliveries to knock over the stumps of Piers Morgan. The first delivery clearly hit him in the ribs with Michael Vaughan warning Morgan not to charge. The next delivery was banged in short and Mr. Morgan was tumbled on the ground. “Bring it on mate”, Morgan said to Lee as the Aussie walked to bowl the next delivery.
The third delivery and Mark Nicholas walked up to Morgan asking him if he needed the team doctor. As Warne had mentioned earlier, “I like the courage.” Although Brett Lee bowled Morgan, the delivery was deemed to be a no ball, giving Lee and extra delivery to inflict some physical Morgan, the delivery was deemed to be a no ball, giving Lee an extra delivery to inflict some physical pain on Morgan. While Morgan did not show any pain some fierce courage, the end of the over, saw most of the Aussies surround Morgan ushered praise on him for his courage.
In the aftermath of his trolls directed at the Indian Olympic contingent, the former Aussie bowler sent out a tweet directed at Morgan “Let me know if it’s like the ending you had hoped your ribs have recovered champion.”
