Former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly said that Virat Kohli-led side can play with five bowlers if Stuart Binny is the bowling all rounder although it should situation specific.
The team management has to decide as per the situation. In the past also we have seen India play with five bowlers. He said that playing with five bowlers is a good option if you consider Stuart Binny as the fifth bowler.
Ganguly praised the team’s series victory against Sri Lanka after losing the first Test. It was a fabulous victory by team India who did well after losing the first Test and it was a great achievement. If they keep playing like this, they will continue to win in future. Binny did well in the chances he got in the last two Test matches.
Ganguly said that India needs to balance their team according to conditions and pitches. The real test comes in October when South Africa will come to India to play 4 Test matches, 3 T-20 and 5 One day Internationals.
Stuart Binny has done well in the chances he got. He picked wickets in the two matches and contributed with the bat. Apart from this Axar Patel has got the potential but has not got a chance in the Indian Test team.
The selectors must look hard and choose the correct team for the important series against South Africa. South Africa is the number 1 ranked test team in the world and India must think if Stuart Binny is the 5th bowling option.
