After being reduced to 66/5 at one stage, James Taylor and wicket-keeper batsman Jos Buttler saved England from the blushes as their magnificient knocks of 82 and 67 respectively sealed their team the deal in the 6th ODI at Perth by 3 wickets and secured them a place in the finals of the tri-series, where they’ll face Australia at the same venue on February 1st.

Chasing a target of 201 on the tricky WACA wicket, England got off to a bad start as they lost their in-form opener Ian Bell on the score of 14. Moeen Ali, who had a good day with the bowl, failed to get going with the bat and lost his wicket to Axar Patel. Stuart Binny then took three quick wickets of Joe Root, Eoin Morgan and Ravi Bopara and created some panic in England’s dressing room. But James Taylor, who faced 41 balls for his first tentative 12 runs, stood at one end and along with Jos Buttler put on a 125-run partnership to guide England home.
Brief Scores: India 200 (Rahane 73, Finn 3-36, Ali 2-35) lost to England 201/7 (Taylor 82, Buttler 67, Binny 3-33) by 3 wickets
