Indian batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar is one of the legendary figures in the cricket fraternity. The one and only Master Blaster gave absolutely everything for the nation during his heydays and went on to create many more records. Ever since the batting phenom’s retirement, countless people across the world shed tears.
Sachin Tendulkar’s attractive style of play drew attention from every nook and corner of the cricketing fraternity. The legend is celebrating his 47th birthday today. Sachin was born in 1973 in Mumbai and his destiny to become a cricketer is the best thing to have ever happened to him and for Team India.

Named after the legendary singer Sachin Dev Burman, Sachin Tendulkar, in his childhood days, grew up playing the sport on the streets before his brother took him to Ramakant Achrekar and the rest is history.
Sachin Tendulkar made his international debut at the age of 16. He took on the deadly attack of Pakistan comprising Imran Khan, Wasim Akram, and Waqar Younis. Though he didn’t have a memorable debut and his initial couple of matches didn’t go his way, Sachin Tendulkar never gave up and had immense faith in his game.
Thankfully, it paid off as he ended up as the leading run-scorer in the international circuit. The God of Cricket finished his career with 34,357 runs across formats — 15,921 in 200 Tests, 18426 in 463 ODIs and 10 in only T20I.

In addition, he scored 100 centuries to his name and also scored the first double hundred in ODI cricket (against South Africa in the year 2010). Sachin Tendulkar played the World Cup for the joint record number of six times and he eventually won it with the Indian cricket team in 2011 in front of his home crowd in Mumbai.
