Chris Gayle continued his friendly relations with Afghanistan players even after losing the final of the World Cup Qualifiers.

He joined Afghanistan’s camp and performed Champions Dance with them to celebrate their victory.

It was in 2016 when first time Gayle joined Afghanistan’s camp during T20 World Cup played in India.

Afghanistan won that game by six runs, as Windies failed to chase down a mere target of 124. most ducks in odi

However, Gayle was happy for Afghanistan victory, and he celebrated with his opposition team for the historic win.

Windies had already qualified for the next stage, and the loss did not have any impact on its chances in the tournament.

The Darren Sammy-led side went on to win next knockout games and clinched the title by defeating England in a crunch game.

Yesterday as well, the loss did not have an impact on Windies’ chances, as they have qualified for the next World Cup.

Though it was the final and a victory would have meant they would have emerged out as the champions of the World Cup Qualifier tournament. Batting first, Windies could just post a total of 204 on the board.

Mujeeb Zadran again shone for his team and snared four wickets for 43 runs in 9.5 overs.

Afghanistan never seemed to be in difficulty while batting and went past the target in just 40.4 overs – winning the game by seven wickets.

With this win, they emerged out as the champions of the ICC World Cup Qualifier tournament.

Both Windies and Afghanistan had already booked their place in the next World Cup even before the final started. Windies have had an easy road to the next World Cup. However, Afghanistan were on the verge of being knocked out.

Had Zimbabwe defeated UAE in their last Super Six game, they could have qualified, and Afghanistan’s last game against Ireland would have been a dead rubber.

Zimbabwe lost against UAE, which gave hope to Afghanistan and Ireland, both.

Afghanistan defeated Ireland in the ultimate final to qualify for the World Cup 2019. They also won the final of qualifiers by upsetting Windies, again.

Chris Gayle, known for his jovial nature, joined Afghanistan’s camp to enjoy the moment. The 2019 World Cup will be played in England from May 30 to July 14. A total of 10 teams will participate in the tournament.

Australia will go in as the defending champions by being the current World Cup champions.
