England speedster and death overs specialist Chris Jordan has spilled his thoughts of getting picked in the upcoming IPL auction, which will take place in Bengaluru on Sunday (February 4).
Chris Jordan has had a taste of the lucrative league, having played for Royal Challengers Bangalore last year. Virat Kohli-led RCB reached the final but finished second, losing to an upbeat Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Talking about his chances of getting lucky second time around, Jordan said he enjoyed his stint with the Bangalore side and that he loved playing in front of big crowds too.
Jordan, who picked up 11 wickets in nine matches last season, said bowling under pressure has made him a better player.
“I’m going back into the auction and obviously hope to get picked up. It’s a tournament I really enjoyed, it really helped develop me as a player from that mental point of view, playing in front of big crowds every other day almost and you’re under a lot of pressure to deliver and perform. With Bangalore we made it to the final and obviously we want to go that one step further. The tournament has done really well and hopefully I go back and get picked up.”
Given his ability to trouble batsmen in death overs, Jordan showed a glimpse in the Kanpur T20I game, where he just conceded eleven off the last over with Mahendra Singh Dhoni standing on the other side. In his four overs, he gave away 27 runs and took one wicket.
India will face England in the second T20I game in Nagpur on Sunday.
