All-rounder Chris Morris has been ruled out of the upcoming Test series against Bangladesh. He is suffering from a back injury, and the team management is only expecting to avail his services during the limited over series, that will follow. Morris played his last Test against England during the third game in the four-match series.

The unavailability of Morris has now resulted in lack of pacers for South Africa as Kagiso Rabada and Morne Morkel are the only two regulars pacers in the side now. Vernon Philander has already been ruled out of the first Test, and Dale Steyn has also confirmed that he is not looking to make a Test comeback soon.

South Africa may have to import someone from the ‘A’ ranks to fulfill that one vacant spot in the line-up. They can also look for a fast bowling all-rounder, which will be like to like a replacement for Morris.

The Test series between South Africa and Bangladesh starts from September 28, with the first test to be played at Senwes Park in Potchefstroom. The second and last Test will be played at Mangaung Oval in Bloemfontein. A three-match ODI and Two matches T20I series will follow the Test action.

South Africa is yet to announce the squad for the Test series. Meanwhile, Aiden Markram is expected to retain his place, and he might replace Heino Kuhn. Markram will also lead the team for the practice game against Bangladesh before the start of the international fixtures.
