Champions League T20 2014 (CLT20) will be played in India from September 13 to October 4, 2014, where a total of 29 matches will be held across four venues – Hyderabad, Mohali, Bangalore and Raipur.
Meanwhile, defending Indian Premier League (IPL) champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will play against two time IPL winners Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the opening match at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad on September 17. The tournament will follow a similar format similar of previous editions, with a Qualifiers followed by group stage matches. The Qualifier begins from September 13, while the main tournament, which comprises of 10 teams, begins on September 17.
Here are theams which will participate in CLt20 2014.
Group A: Kolkata Knight Riders (India), Dolphins (SA), Perth Scorchers (Australia), Chennai Super Kings India), A team from the Qualifier.
Group B: Kings XI Punjab (India), Cape Cobras (South Africa), Hobart Hurricanes (Australia), Champion side from the West Indies, A team from the Qualifier.
Qualifiers: Q1 – Lahore Lions (Pakistan), Q2 – Mumbai Indians (India), Q3 – Northern Knights (New Zealand), Q4 – Southern Express (Sri Lanka)
Q1/Q3 will enter Group A if either of them makes it to the Group Stage.
Q2/Q4 will enter Group B if either of them makes it to the Group Stage.
If Q1 and Q3 both make it to the Group Stage, then Q1 will enter Group A and Q3 will enter Group B. If Q2 and Q4 both make it to the Group Stage, then Q2 will enter Group B and Q4 will enter Group A.
