The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has confirmed that Lahore will host the final of Pakistan Super League (season two) and they are in process of informing the international cricketers regarding the same. The board will hold a new draft in the last week of February for the foreign players, who will be willing to travel to Pakistan in place of those who opt out.
The PCB had long plans to host the PSL final in Lahore as Najam Sethi, the Chairman of PSL, in past, expressed many a times his desire to stage Pakistan Super League final in Lahore and finally, after long hard work of over half a year, they confirmed the same.
It should be noted that no other team except Zimbabwe has toured Pakistan since the attack on Sri Lankan players in 2009. Zimbabwe toured Pakistan in 2015 and the team was provided with Presidential level security with jeeps having a red siren over it, moving along with the team 24/7. Still, the tour was marred by controversy as a blast took place during the second ODI at Gaddafi stadium. Two people lost their lives in the suicide bombing incident. The ICC also did not send its officials for the series but allowed Pakistan board to use their local officials.
Recently, Pakistan invited West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) for a two-match T20I series. The WICB is yet to give their reply on the same.
