The cloud surrounding where the 3rd ODI between India and New Zealand which will take place on October 29 remains as it is yet to be finalized from both parties. While the Board of Control for Cricket in India had already finalized Green Park, Kanpur as the host for the 3rd ODI in the initial home itinerary announced but later changed to Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association Ground in the latest fixtures revealed.
However the UPCA officials are confident of the fact that the work which is currently under way will be completed in the next 40 days but if the situation doesn’t transpire out that way, Green Park Kanpur will host the 3rd ODI between India and New Zealand.
Meanwhile, the officials of the UPCA are willing to bring the match TO Lucknow where the opening match of the Duleep Trophy 2017 is being played. The stadium is still under construction and doesn’t have all the required facilities to host an international event. The International Cricket Council too haven’t given them the green signal to host an international match.
Meanwhile, the 3rd T20I featuring India and New Zealand has also been shifted from the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack to Thiruvananthapuram due to an Odisha Festival, The Bali Jatra which is slated for 4th November. The locals had raised an issue as a match held between India and Sri Lanka two days before the festival in 2014 didn’t get a great response and took some major hit and had some ugly incidents happening on the ground.
Meanwhile, the mid pitch of the Barabati Stadium is not in proper order as the stadium hosted the football matches of the Federation Cup in the last few months. The Acting President of OCA Dhiren Pillai said that the ground is not in good condition now but will be to host the match in the coming 50 days.
