Overview
CPL 2016 has come to its playoffs stage after an exciting finish to the league stage. The first match of the playoffs will be played between Guyana Amazon Warriors and Jamaica Tallawahs. Having players like Dwayne Smith & Chris Lynn, Guyana Amazon Warriors stood at the top position with their consistent performance throughout the tournament. On the other side, Jamaica Tallawahs, led by Chris Gayle, also had a great beginning to their CPL campaign. Though, they lost their last league match against St Lucia Zouks, still, they managed to find a 2nd spot in the points table. Both the teams have lost the same number of matches (3) and are at the top with 14 and 13 points respectively.
Looking from GAW’s point of view, Chris Lynn is their key batsman throughout the season, while Sohail Tanvir and spinner Adam Zampa are having a wonderful season with the bowl as they finished second and third on highest wicket takers list till league stage respectively. These three players need to fire if GAW wants to go further & lift the title. On the other hand, Jamaica Tallawahs is blessed with several big stars to their side. Skipper Chris Gayle, Kumar Sangakkara, Shakib-Al-Hasan & Andre Russell are capable of winning the matches single- handedly.
The inaugural edition of the CPL went to Jamaica Tallawahs, however, the situation this year is not the same as GAW are totally ready to win in every situation.
Prediction
By looking at the past performances of both the teams, Guyana Amazon Warriors has an edge over Jamaica Tallawahs.
