Ashley Nurse has replaced the all-rounder Mehedi Hasan in the Trinbago Knight Riders camp for the remainder of Carribean Premier League.

Mehedi has been selected in the Bangladesh squad for the first Test against Australia and has to fly back to the county. Though Mehedi didn’t get even one game before his departure, his replacement is expected to come, and straightaway gets a game in their next match on Wednesday against St Kitts and Nevis Patriots.

“Ashley gives us another spin option. He has been playing some league cricket in England, so he comes fresh to us from there. Dwayne Bravo was very keen to get him into the squad given that we have still got some big games coming up against St Kitts & Nevis Patriots, Jamaica Tallawahs and Barbados Tridents. He will have a big role to play giving us another spin option,” said Head Coach Simon Katich.

Mehedi is not the only member of the team as Shadab Khan has also left the camp. In fact, every Pakistan cricketer associated with the league has to leave the competition, as Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has asked the players to report for training on August 22. The camp will mark the start to preparations of the team for the series against Sri Lanka.Talking of the franchise, at present, Tribango Knight Riders are placed at a top position in the points table with six wins in seven games and has already qualified for the next round.Barbados Tridents, the other franchise has also made one change as they have called in Tion Webster in the side in place of Raymon Reifer. The final of the T20 league is slated to be played on September 9 in Brian Lara Stadium.
