CPL Limited is now trying to find out a new owner soon for this franchise. However, they haven’t revealed the reason for the latest termination.

According to the CPL media release, it claimed, “CPL Limited is in the process of establishing and operating a new franchise to be based in St Lucia that will participate in the 2019 Caribbean Premier League.”
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Royal Sports Club, LLC, Jay Pandya has felt disappointed with this termination. Royal Sports Club, LLC is an US-based organisation in Pennsylvania.

Pandya told ESPNcricinfo, “We completely disagree with the CPL press release and will be working to address any issues the CPL may have in an appropriate manner and forum.”
St Lucia Stars previously featured as St Lucia Zouks
In October 2016, the Royal Sports Club, LLC overtook the ownership of this franchise. Earlier, this franchise was known as St Lucia Zouks till the end of CPL 2016. As Zouks, this side’s best CPL record was finishing as the fourth team in CPL 2016.

As Stars, this team finished in the last position (sixth) in CPL 2017 and fifth position in CPL 2018. This team has never won a CPL trophy. In fact, they have never reached the final of any CPL edition.
Earlier, ahead of the CPL 2019 Players’ Draft, a team of local and international investors-led USA-based CMG Companies have overtaken the ownership of another CPL side Barbados Tridents. Before that, Vijay Mallya was the owner of that franchise.
