Finally, Rajasthan Royals (RR) found the winning way in the ongoing edition of Indian Premier League (IPL) as Ajinkya Rahane looked somewhat elated with the all-round show.

Skipper Rahane has been under a lot of pressure as the results didn’t go in their way despite making a lot of changes to the core unit. However, it finally came at their fortress; Swai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur against Kings XI Punjab.

Happy-looking Rahane maintained that the bowlers came to the party and credited victory for them. He also thanked Jos Buttler for finding his feet at the right moment of the tourney and wanted him to continue the momentum.

Rahane further showered words of praise on leg-spinner Ish Sodhi for his incredible spell in middle overs.

“Really happy the way we played. I thought 160 was good here. Credit to the bowlers, the way they bowled. Powerplay overs were crucial. Ish Sodhi in the middle overs was fantastic. We thought keeping an attacking mindset will help us. KG bowled really well, getting Gayle and Ashwin. It’s important that we enjoy this victory, forget this and move forward,”Rahane said during the post-match presser.

Left-arm pacer is always good to have: winning skipper

The right-handed classy batsman furtherly added that having a left-arm fast bowler in the side is always a huge boost, especially, when the wicket is on the slower side.

Ajinkya Rahane feels that getting hit for the boundaries is a good sign for Jaydev Unadkat as he can fetch wickets and can keep improving his game of cricket.

”Left-arm pacer is always good to have, especially when you play on slow wickets. Sometimes you get hit but good for Jaydev because he always thinks wickets. I was confused (at the toss) but putting runs on the board helped us. We want to play good cricket through all 40 overs,” Rahane added.

However, the win ensured Royals to stay alive in the tourney while the loss for Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) shortened their chances to top the points table.

Currently, Punjab has 12 points in their kitty while Rajasthan has collected eight points.

Coming to future assignments, Rajasthan will take on Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at Sawai Man Singh Stadium on May 11th. It is going to be another big hurdle for the Rajasthan as CSK are in top form.
