Cricket Australia Takes A Dig At Harbhajan Singh For His ‘3-0 Win If Aussies Play Well’

Cricket Australia has taken a dig at veteran Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh after the Australian team thrashed India by 333 in the first Test of the Border-Gavaskar series.
Given Australia’s poor track record in the subcontinent and more specifically India, where they had not won a Test since 2004, the hosts were the overwhelming favourites for the series. Several former and current players had tipped the world number team to beat comfortably. And Harbhajan Singh was no different. Predicting a 4-0 result in the favour of Virat Kohli’s men, the Punjab ace had said that the current Australian team was the weakest to tour India.
“I have played against some of the best Australian sides,” Harbhajan had said.
“In my opinion, looking at the composition, this is the weakest Australian side to tour India. I don’t think this team has the wherewithal to cope with a quality Indian side in the Indian conditions. It can again be 4-0 like 2013 season.”
However, the team from Down Under defied all the odds and thoroughly dominated the hosts to go one up in the four-match series. Meanwhile, Cricket Australia sensed an opportunity to take a dig at the bowler who had given the Australian team a tough time on several occasions.
Posting the article where Harbhajan had criticised Steve Smith’s men, Cricket Australia’s Twitter handle tweeted:
