Kanga League:

This league is one of the toughest cricket leagues in the world. It was named after Dr. Hormasji Dorabji Kanga who played 43 first-class matches and was a selector for Indian national team. Former Indian cricketer Vijay Hazare had specially taken interest to initiated the tournament to test the skills of young Mumbai batsmen. Hazare asked Mumbai Cricket Association to play the match in June and July, the rainy season. This season is very grueling. Sweltering heat, constant interruption of rain and moisture on the pitch always trouble the batsmen. Batsmen don’t get easy run to feast on the pitch they have to struggle and have to be an impeccable defense.
Bowlers are a constant threat to this condition. Bowl swing viciously, skid often so batsmen must have hundred percent concentrations on the game. The conditions made many Mumbai batsmen mentally tough and a batsman of all weather. Among the current bloke, Prithvi Shaw is the most reckoned youngsters who rose from this league. He has been considered as the next Sachin Tendulkar. Most of the Mumbai batsmen travel in the congested train to reach the maidan.
Their day start on early morning and struggle to find a space among the robust passengers with heavy kits. This daily journey made them tough physically and mentally.
