England’s tour of India in cold January of 2013:
After the end of Pakistan series England came to play against India. India defeated England in the first four match in relatively warm condition. But as the last two matches enter in North India where cold wave and snow made the life of people difficult. India and England were set to play two dead rubbers. The fourth match at Mohali where severe gold grappled the people of Punjab as Shivalik hill which is close to Mohali was covered by snow.
The lush green Punjab Cricket Association ground was looking brown as fog made the field wet and rain a day before the match aggravated the condition. At this kind of pitch, bowlers get the assistance as ball would swing viciously. However, defying the challenge India defeated England by five wickets.
But as the fifth match was at Dharamshala ground, in Himachal Pradesh which locates in the womb of the great Himalayan, the temperature was notching below minus and vicinity was snowing so Indian players were shivering in unbearable cold. They found the weather difficult as they failed both with batting and fielding and bowlers failed to grip the ball in the night. India scored 226 and England have won the match by seven wickets. Possibly they are quite familiar with this kind of conditions.
