On the auspicious day of Rakshabandhan, many cricketers took to their twitter handles and wished their sisters while the female cricketers also shared pictures with their brothers on this special day. Virat Kohli, who is currently in Sri Lanka, leading Team India in the 3 match Test series took to his twitter handle and shared a picture with his didi and other family members. “A very Happy Rakshabandhan to everyone across the world celebrating, missing Didi and everyone at home today,” Kohli tweeted.

Kohli recently became the 1st Indian captain to win two Test series in Sri Lanka when India thrashed the Islanders by an innings and 54 runs in the 2nd Test at the Sinhalese Sports Club in Colombo. They have been rampant in all 3 forms of the game and has thoroughly outplayed the hosts. India won the opening Test by 304 runs and is now leading the 3 match series by a 2-1 margin.
In the process, Kohli also extended his dream run as a captain to 8th consecutive series victory beating Steve Waugh. He is just a series away from breaking the record held by Ricky Ponting with 9 successive series victories. Kohli’s record as a captain has been impressive will be an understatement. He is having a memorable time as a captain and has the won 18 out of the 28 Test he has captained so far.
If he can go on at this pace, it won’t be long when he breaks both Sourav Ganguly and MS Dhoni’s record for the most win as captain. While Dhoni led India to 27 Test victories, Ganguly captained India to 21 Test wins. Meanwhile “Nawab of Najafgarh” Virender Sehwag was also seen celebrating the festival with his two sisters. “Sister is a little bit of childhood that can never be lost. Happy #RakshaBandhan to all.My sister’s Anju ji & Manju ji & me half Ganju ji :)” Sehwag wrote.
