Chennai Super Kings (CSK) might have been suspended for 2 years from banned for two years from India’s cash-rich IPL, but that cannot stop their loyal fans to try hard to continuously promote the MS Dhoni-led team on social media platforms. CSK means Brand!
Now CSK supporters will be enjoying a joyride once again as the third edition for the Junior Super Kings inter-school T20 tournament will start in Chennai from Wednesday. This would further give a chance to CSK in order to measure the reach of two-time IPL champions with their fans despite recent turmoil.
Last year, the tournament had to face a major hurdle. But the scenario has changed completely, this time, around because of constant calls from schools and parents across the state who wanted to know if the tournament would start this season. That’s why the management has decided to give the competition the green signal.
According to latest reports, the Junior Super Kings inter-school T20 tournament, CSK’s famous school competition, will be held in four phases and will involve 32 schools fight each other in the opening phase.
The second phase will begin from August 2 and will be held at Vellore, Erode, Villupuram, Nagapattinam and Tirunelveli. A total of 7 games will be played in each district.
The third phase of the tournament will witness a total of 15 matches played across each district – Madurai, Trichy, Salem, Coimbatore and Dindigul from August 8.
Meanwhile, after a period of lull, N. Srinivasan took the centre stage once again earlier this month. The former president of the Indian cricket board, who was forced to step down from the prestigious post following an ugly episode of betting allegations in the Indian Premier League, was not at all remained shy away from questions that often proved, not long ago, uncomfortable.
The newly appointed boss of the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association said Chennai Super Kings would come back to the Indian Premier League “without any external intervention.”
