The Chennai Super Kings unit has departed for the UAE for the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League, which will run from September 19 to November 10. The franchise was lead by their skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who announced his International on India’s 74th Independence Day, 15 August. The CSK players were seen leaving for the Chennai Airport and the CSK twitter handle also posted the pictures.
Along with Dhoni, players like Suresh Raina, Ravindra Jadeja, Monu Singh, and bowling coach Laxmipathy Balaji were seen on the move. CSK hosted a five-day camp at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai before their departure. Players like Ravindra Jadeja, Harbhajan Singh, and Shardul Thakur had gone on to miss the preparatory camp due to personal reasons.

Furthermore, Harbhajan Singh has confirmed the franchise that he will join the franchise late in the UAE as his mother his ill. On the other hand, CSK all-rounder Shane Watson has reached Dubai and posted a video from a hotel room.

All the players will be tested for Covid-19 thrice upon their arrival in the UAE, as per the protocols. All the CSK were players were tested negative before they jet off to their destination. The players would need to self isolate themselves for a week before they would be permitted to train outdoors.
On the other hand, Kings XI Punjab became the first franchise to leave for the UAE on 20 August. Rajasthan Royals also left for the UAE yesterday. Furthermore, Virat Kohli’s led Royal Challengers Bangalore also departed for the venue on August 21 and posted their flight picture on Twitter account.

Meanwhile, the IPL is all set to begin from September 19 with Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah to host all the matches. There will be 10 doubleheaders whereas the timing has been preponed by 30 minutes. The afternoon matches will begin from 1530 IST whereas the evening matches will start from 1930 IST.
