Pool A fixture between Bangladesh and Scotland in Cricket World Cup 2015 turned out to be an exciting contest as Bangladesh chased down the target of 319 and improved their way to the Quarter Finals. Whereas Scotland lost their 4th straight game and is now out of contention for Quarters berth.

Here are the statistical highlights of the game:

–> Kyle Coetzer’s 156 was the highest individual score for an Associate team player in World Cup Cricket. Previous highest was 134* by Klaas-Jan Jeroen Van Noortwijk against Namibia in 2003 World Cup.

Coetzer hit 17 fours in his innings of 156 which was most for an Associate player beating Paul Stirling’s 14 fours vs Netherlands in 2011. He became only the 18th batsman in World Cup history to get past 150 in a single innings.

Coetzer’s 156 was also the 1st century by a Scotland batsman in the process, he went past the country’s previous best in World Cups, 76 by G Hamilton in 1999 World Cup against Pakistan. Coetzer is also the only Scotland batsman after Hamilton to score more than one 50+ score in World Cup history.

In overall, Coetzer’s 156 was 3rd highest individual score for an Associate team player & 2nd highest individual score for Scotland in ODIs. Other two knocks were on the name of Ireland’s Paul Stirling’s 177 in 2010 and Scotland’s Calum MacLeod’s 175 in 2014, with both coming against Canada.

–> Scotland’s total of 318/7 was the 2nd highest total for an Associate team against a Test Nation in Cricket World Cups. Highest is 329/7 by Ireland against England in 2011 World Cup at Bangalore.

–> Soumya Sarkar holded on to 4 catches during the Scottish innings, equalling Mohammad Kaif’s record of most catches by a fielder in World Cups.

–> Tamim Iqbal when on his individual score of 10, went past 4000 runs in ODI Cricket becoming only the 2nd Bangladeshi player after Shakib Al Hasan, who also completed in the same World Cup.

–> Tamim Iqbal and Mahmudullah’s stand of 139 was the highest ever and only the 2nd century stand for Bangladesh in World Cups. Their previous best was 114 between Rahim and Shakib which also came in this World Cup against Afghanistan.

–> Tamim Iqbal’s 95 was the highest individual score for Bangladesh in World Cups. No one from their country score a century in the history of World Cup. Previous best was by Mohammad Ashraful, who scored 87 against South Africa in 2007.

–> 322/4 is the highest team total for Bangladesh in World Cups. Their previous highest was 285/9 against India in 2011. It was also their highest successful chased score and in overall their 2nd highest total.

Their previous highest total was 326/3 against Pakistan in 2014 and previous highest chased score was 313 against Zimbabwe in 2009.

It was only the 7th successfully chase of 300+ total, with the highest been by Ireland (329) against England in 2011 and Bangladesh’s 319 stands 2nd spot.

–> Coetzer’s 156 is now the highest individual score in World Cups in losing cause. Previous highest was 143 by HH Gibbs against New Zealand in 2011.

Coetzer, also became the 19th player to get man of the match award despite of being on losing side in World Cups. It was the 21st occasion, where a player from losing side was awarded the man of the match award. J Davison & D Houghton were awarded man of the match twice when on losing side.
