South African pacer Dale Steyn has given an update on his groin injury. Steyn had suffered an injury while playing for Hampshire against Nottinghamshire in the County Championship.
Steyn took to his Twitter account to reveal the current state of his injury. The fiery fast bowler revealed there is a small tweak and nothing serious has happened. Thus, it should take another seven to ten days for him to recuperate from injury.
The Proteas fast bowler had to leave the field mid-way into an over after suffering a blow to his thigh. Thus, it had raised doubts over Steyn’s availability for the coming matches of the County.
In fact, Dale Steyn has coped with a spate of injuries in the recent past. The talisman fast bowler suffered a shoulder injury in 2016 while playing against Australia. Therefore, the injury kept him out of action for almost two years.
However, Steyn was able to make a comeback for the first Test match against India. But a heel injury ruled him out for the next two Test matches. Steyn also had to miss the series against Australia.
Meanwhile, Steyn made a comeback in the recent Test series against Sri Lanka. The Proteas fast bowler didn’t look at his best of his abilities as he took only two wickets in the testing conditions. In fact, Steyn went wicketless for the first time in his career in the second Test match.
However, Steyn was able to equal Shaun Pollock’s record of 421 wickets.
Dale Steyn took to Twitter to share an update on his injury. Steyn post read as, “Never had so much attention about my groin area… ??. Small tweak, nothing serious. 7-10 days. Likely to miss 1 game”.
