Daniel Vettori, India vs Bangladesh, Indore, Eden Garden

India and Bangladesh are getting themselves ready for the upcoming challenge in Eden Gardens. The two teams will play their first day-night Test with the pink ball. The teams decided to stay two more days in Indore to prepare for the second Test match. Bangladesh spin bowling consultant Daniel Vettori showed his discontent with the pitch curator of Indore for not allowing them to use centre wicket.

India won the first Test match against Bangladesh in Indore. The Test match ended within three days as India won by an innings and 130 runs. It has given more time to both the teams to formulate themselves for the next game with the pink ball. Former New Zealand captain Daniel Vettori wanted the centre wicket of Indore to make the Bangladeshi players get ready.

He talked Samandar Singh Chauhan, Indore pitch curator, about the same and explained him about the ICC rules but his proposal was not accepted. Samandar Singh Chauhan said that that they are unable to follow the ICC guideline as the Test match was over within three days.

A Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) official confirmed that Daniel Vettori had a conversation with pitch curator.

“It’s true that he spoke to the curator but it’s totally their privilege. If they did not allow us to practice for one day even, that would have been within their right. All wickets are centre wickets. We got one they got one,” said an official.

Meanwhile, both the teams will play their first-day night Test match. It will be also the first experience for the two teams to play with the Pink ball. The match timings will be from 1 pm to 8 pm and it is expected to be a full house on the first three days of the match.

On the first day of this second Test match, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee and Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina will come to watch the match.
