Danish Kaneria Wants His Case To Be Reviewed By Tribunal Committee 1

Banned leg-spinner Danish Kaneria has made an appeal to Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to get his case reviewed by the three-member tribunal committee, which has been formed to look into the spot-fixing matter in PSL involving Khalid Latif and Sharjeel Khan.

Kaneria, who claims to be clean, was banned by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) for life in 2012 for involvement in spot-fixing in the English County Season. He was later banned by the ECB from playing cricket. The former Pakistan leg-spinner filed an appeal in a UK court in 2014 which got rejected.

Kaneria is still hopeful of making a comeback and this time, he has made an appeal to Nawaz Sharf, the Prime Minister, to refer his case to the tribunal committee.

“I am a proud Pakistani and want to serve my country more. Help me in this regard,” Kaneria told APP.

The three-member tribunal committee comprises of retired Justice Asghar  Haider, former PCB chairman Tauqir Zia and former wicketkeeper Wasim Bari. The committee will look into the fixing allegations on Khalid Latif and Sharjeel Khan, who were sent back home from the UAE during PSL.

However, both players have denied fixing allegations but have accepted breaching the disciplinary conduct.
