Darren Bravo To Meet WICB Officials To Clear Misunderstandings 1
Darren Bravo will meet WICB officials to clear the misunderstanding between the two.

West Indies batsman Darren Bravo is likely to meet the WICB officials to clear the misunderstandings between the two, which has resulted in him getting barred from regional and international cricket by the board.

According to Suruj Ragoonath, the chief executive officer of the Trinidad and Tobago Cricket Board said the left-handed batsman has been invited by the board to resolve the matter and until the decision comes out, he won’t be available for selection. However, the board is awaiting an answer from Bravo.

“The WICB has invited Darren Bravo to a meeting. We expect that a determination will be made concerning his selection for the Trinidad and Tobago Red Force and the West Indies teams following this meeting.”

“Until the matter has been resolved and the parties have agreed on a position, Bravo would not be allowed to participate in the current Regional Digicel four-Day, nor would he be eligible for selection for the West Indies. The WICB awaits a response from Bravo regarding the meeting invitation.”

Bravo, who has represented West Indies in 94 ODIs so far, was kept out of Trinidad & Tobago squad for the Nagico Super50 tournament, which begins on January 24. The 27-year-old was earlier dragged down in the Grade C contract by the board, resulting in him posting controversial Twitter posts against WICB chairman, Dave Cameron.

The remarks posted by Bravo were considered as breaching of disciplinary code by the board, and he was sent home from then ongoing Tri-Series tour to Zimbabwe in November, last year. When Cameron was asked about his contract demotion, he said, ‘If you continue to keep giving him an A contract then what is the motivation to get better? He has been on an ‘A’ contract and he hasn’t done well.

Referring to his words, Darren Bravo posted on Twitter saying Cameron has been a failure as an administrator and even suggested him to resign.
