David Warner apologises for skipping IPL 2015 opening ceremony

The IPL ceremony that had its fair share of glitz and glamour erupted the whole city when it was going down at the Salt Lake stadium in Kolkata on Tuesday. All the skippers from various teams had to attend the ceremony.

However the skipper of the Sunrisers Hyderabad was not present at the event and later apologized to everyone concerned and added that he would reach the country on Wednesday. Warner who took to Twitter for the apology also added that he is excited to be a part of the IPL.

Before the start of the season, BCCI wanted all the captains to be present at the event and sign the MCC (Marylebone Cricket Club) spirit of cricket campaign where they to sign on a bat. However Warner who could not make it was replaced by Shikhar Dhawan on his behalf.

All the captains including Watson and Bailey were present at the ceremony wherein the skipper of the most successful team in the IPL Mahendra Singh Dhoni signed off before any one did and the most popular cricket at the moment in the country Virat Kohli was the last to lend his signature on the bat.

The first game for the Sun Risers is on the 11th of the month against CSK at the Chidambaram stadium and Warner who will reach India on Wednesday will have a huge role to play not only in that game but also the whole season that is to follow.
