David Warner said that the Australians will aim to capture the only title missing from the impressive trophy cabinet when they travel to India for the World T20 next year. The Australians have dominated test matches, One day Internationals and are the most successful team at the 50 over World Cup winning the title five times.
However, the Australian team have fallen short in the battle for supremacy in T20 and are yet to win the T20 crown in the five editions of the tournament so far starting in 2007.
Warner feels that Australia will have much better chance in 2016 edition since many Australian players are familiar with the conditions and big match atmosphere in India due to involvement in the Indian Premier League.
The Australian players have played in India for 5 to 6 years as the pitches are good for batting. All the players have played there and played IPL. Whatever the team is selected that will be right for those conditions. Warner said that this will be our best chance to win the T-20 World Cup. We have played more in India than what we have played at home. Warner one of the destructive batsmen in world cricket also felt that lack of continuity between players is to blame for Australia inability to deal unpredictable nature of T-20 cricket.
Warner said playing consistent cricket with same team and when you work with each other over certain period of time you can establish and work it out.
Leading into the World Cup we didn’t change the team a lot but it will be a challenge to play together as a team and win the cup for the country.
