The third test between South Africa and Australia had shaken the cricketing world when Australian cricketers did ball tampering.

The impact has been so immense that Cricket Australia had decided to sanction three players who were found guilty of the incident. Steve Smith was sanctioned 12-month ban along with another 12-month prohibition for him to be eligible for captaincy of the national side.

David Warner, on the other hand, was handed a 12-month ban and he can never be in contention for the captaincy in the future for Australian national team. Both the players were subsequently banned from IPL and lost their massive paychecks.

Youngster Cameron Bancroft was also banned for nine months and will need to wait for another 12 months before being eligible for captaincy position. In the midst of all the happenings, English middle order batsman Dawid Malan has revealed that England were suspicious of their counterparts during the Ashes series that concluded in January.

The hosts Australia were prolific and won the series quite convincingly as they managed to extract good reverse swing which both James Anderson and Stuart Broad failed to do for England.

“I think every time the ball starts reversing quickly, no matter which team you’re playing against, you always ask the question. Sometimes you get the ball reversing quicker than other times — and if we don’t get it reversing, we always just look at each other and go, ‘Oh well, they must be doing something to it’. That’s just natural.” Malan was quoted as saying by standard.co.uk.

The 30-year old has also expressed his disappointment over the recent ball-tampering scandal.

“They’ve said their leadership group [only knew]. If that’s the way they did it, that’s the way they did it.” He added.

The English team are currently touring New Zealand and have lost the first test match quite convincingly as they were bundled out for just 58 runs in the first innings. England are set to miss the services of Moeen Ali and Craig Overton going into the second test match and will look to draw the test series.
