- Unfortunate end to an ODI:
Back in 2001, on South Africa’s tour of West Indies, an incident that rarely happens on a cricket field was up for the viewers to watch.
The hosts put 220 runs on the board while South Africa hardly had any trouble chasing down the score in the 2nd match of the ODI series. A century from the opener Herschelle Gibbs and an un-beaten 78 from Kallis was enough to win the game but he chase was not what was grabbing attention in the stands.
A local man named Craig Edwards fell prey to an argument as he was stabbed to death after he and another spectator indulged in a heated argument in the Double Decker Stand in Antigua.
This was the only time an incident like this occurred in an international game.
