- A tragic century:
Back in 1983, India toured the Caribbean for a 5 match test series which the hosts eventually took away 2-0 over the 5 games.
In the final test with the outcome of the series already decided, Gordon Greenidge and Desmond Haynes got stuck into the visitors and formed a 296 run partnership to lift their score to 550 after India posted 457 in their first innings.
Greenidge who opened the batting for the Windies was on 154 when he had to retire from the innings and rush to the hospital to visit his sick daughter. Unfortunately, his daughter passed away just a couple of days later and the batsman remained not out in the test match. He was adjudged retired not out which is the only instance of such a scorecard in the history of the game.
