In Australia’s tour of West Indies way back in 1978, with the series already won by the hosts, a not-so-common incident on the field made sure that the Windies would not lose their second game of the series.
In Jamaica on the final day, the visitors needed just one wicket off the last 38 balls left in the day when the crowd took matters into their own hands after Vanburn Holder was given out caught behind. The match could have been finished the next day, but one of the umpires, Ralph Gosein, refused to stand to leave the game to end in a draw.
