  1. Hat-trick of World Cups:

On this day back in 2007, Australia made history that will take a long time to repeat itself. They managed to maul Sri Lanka over in the final of the World Cup at Barbados.

Adam Gilchrist, the fiery opener scored 149 off just 104 balls lifting Australia to 281/4 in the 38 stipulated overs after rain played spoilsport. The sub-continent outfit tried their best at the start of the second innings but fell 53 runs short of the target and handed Australia their 3rd consecutive World Cup after the victories in 1999 and 2003.

It was not a great day for the administration of the tournament in the Caribbean and will always be remembered for the last few overs that were played in almost complete darkness.
