- Landmark for the Windies:
In 1984, Jamaica, Clive Lloyd, one of the most successful captains ever in the history of the sport played a landmark 100th Test match on this day.
This game incidentally was the 100th game to be played in the Caribbean and the home side went into the game with an unassailable 2-0 lead in the 5 match tournament. Lloyd could not mark the day with a big innings as he walked back for just 20 runs in the first innings but the West Indies managed to breeze past Australia and won the game with all 10 wickets to spare.
This is a historic moment not only for the skipper but also for the whole nation holding its 100th Test match.
