- Jacques Rudolph scores a double on his debut:
In 2003 at Chittagong, South Africa who were touring Bangladesh for a test series completely demolished the Asian side with an innings and 60 runs thanks to a brilliant batting performance from the Proteas who declared on the 4th day at 470/2.
After a couple of early strikes, Bangladesh ran into a 429-run partnership between Boeta Dippenaar and Jacques Rudolph. Dippenaar scored 177 runs but the partnership was dominated by the debutant Rudolph who scored 222 runs in an eight and a half hour marathon innings to become just the 5th person to reach the landmark in his first test.
This went a long way in helping them to a victory and this partnership remains the highest between a pair for any wicket for South Africa.
